Welcome to the Harbour
The Harbour is a Resource Provision Base within Studley Infants’ School that meets the needs of children who are unable to access a fulltime curriculum in a mainstream class owing to their complex needs namely Communication and Interaction difficulties including Autism Spectrum conditions.
Studley Infants’ School is a fully inclusive school committed to going the extra mile for each and every one of our children. We strive to make sure that every child can be the best that they can possibly be.
There will be a maximum of 12 children in the Harbour, all with an Education, Health and Care Plan, and they will be supported by lead teacher Amy Lesser, HLTA Louisa Baker and our wonderful team of support staff.

The harbour is a specialised resource provision working specifically with children with communication and interaction difficulties. One of our main aims within the harbour is to integrate our children into mainstream life as much as possible at an appropriate level in a variety of different ways inside and out of the harbour provision itself. All children within the unit have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) bringing a variety of personal targets in addition to those academic EYFS and KS1 targets. We aim to offer children working within the harbour a bespoke curriculum planned around them and their needs, ensuring that our curriculum content is accessible and inclusive for all our pupils. Progress is closely monitored in areas such as communication and interaction (including speech and language), social, emotional and mental health, cognition and learning and sensory and physical needs. Learning within the harbour is practical, hands on, experiential learning that is lead and guided by the children and their interests. The children are immersed into their learning whilst being given the opportunity to develop their emotional regulation and well-being and having access to a multi-sensory learning experiences to enhance the mainstream curriculum.

We understand that children communicate in many different ways, and we respect and celebrate them all. Every child’s voice matters, and we make sure they feel listened to.
Helping children feel calm and ready to learn is really important to us. We focus on supporting their sensory needs to promote wellbeing and help them enjoy their day.
With extra adult support, we offer personalised activities that help children become more confident, independent, and excited about learning.
We also place great importance on helping children make friends, build relationships, and feel part of our school family.

Children in The Harbour will be supported as part of a bespoke and highly individualised integration package to to support their sensory needs and develop a level of independence. At the core of our ethos is that children feel valued, safe and secure within their environment.
There will be a maximum of 13 children in the Harbour, all with an Education, Health and Care Plan, and they will be supported by lead teacher Amy Lesser and HLTA Louisa Baker.
